There are many symptoms of stress and sometimes it's very hard to recognize them. However, if you look at yourself honestly, or perhaps seek medical or other kind of professional help, you can find out if stress is your main problem. While you may experience stress in your own way, there are some common symptoms of stress.

Skipping meals means that you could be missing out on necessary nutrients. Some people also develop eating disorders that are stress-related, and these can also cause an unnatural reduction in weight. Overeating is the most common cause of weight gain. Food makes you feel better, this is called emotional eating. The results of emotional eating consist of becoming overweight and you will find it hard to cut back on calories. If stress is changing your eating habits, you should be aware of this and take steps to manage it.

However, not every sleep problem is stress related but many are. It's most important that you find the root off your sleep disturbance for your physical and mental health. Your personal and professional relationships also suffer mainly because of your difficulty with controlling your moods due to abnormal levels of stress.

People who are under a tremendous amount of stress are likely to experience frequent headaches. Headaches are normal and have a variety of causes, but if you are experiencing them frequently, then you should have it checked out by a doctor. Migraines have many causes, but they are the worst type of stress-related headaches.

People experience stress in different ways, but the symptoms are never pleasant. The more aware you are about what type of thoughts, reactions or situations in your life cause you stress, the more able you'll be to make positive changes. Your quality of life can be improved just by finding ways to prevent stress.
