What's The Difference? Lip Chap Vs Lip Balm Vs Lip Gloss

There are many beauty products for the mouth. Some are meant more for aesthetic purposes, while others are used primarily for healing purposes. Three very common beauty products used for the mouth include: lip balm, lip chap (or chapstick), and lip gloss.

Today, you can find organic versions of all three of these lip enhancing products. They are great for the environment and great for the health of skin. Some people wonder the exact difference between lip balm, lip chap, and lip gloss--especially the difference between balm and chap products. The difference between these products is pretty simple to explain.

Lip Chap

Lip chap, very commonly referred to as chapstick, helps to protect and heal dry and chapped lips. Really, lip chap and lip balm are very similar. Lip chap is used often during the winter because it moisturizers, heals, and protects the lips.

Lip Balm

There are many different types of lip balm. Some add a touch of shine to the mouth like a gloss would do. Some come in different flavors. All of them are great for moisturizing and protecting lips just like chapstick. There are a number of organic lip balms available on the market.

Lip Gloss

Of the three products that this article is focusing on, lip gloss is the one that is merely used for aesthetic purposes. As its name implies, it adds an attractive glossy look to lips. It can be used over lip balm, chapstick, and even lip stick to add a shine to the lips that cannot be attained with the aforementioned products.

Again, all of these products have organic versions, many of which you can find online. All natural products will give you even better results when it comes to moisturizing and protecting the mouth.
